Volunteers
The Friends of the Hampstead Public Library are continually seeking volunteers to join one of our committees or simply attend our meetings to listen or contribute creative fund raising and marketing ideas. To join, pick up a Friends Membership form at the front desk of the library or print out and mail Membership Form found at the bottom of this page.
Next Meeting: December 19, 2024 @ 6:30pm
Membership
If you use the library but haven't yet joined the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library, please think about doing so. It's only $5 per year for an individual membership although there are also other categories that cost more and therefore benefit the library more. Brochures with membership forms are available at the front desk of the library or download a membership form. (See below.) You can also stay abreast of our activities by "liking” the Friends on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/friendshampsteadpubliclibrary).
Mission
The Friends of the Hampstead Public Library is an organization whose goal is to provide support for the library and its many activities while having fun at the same time. Memberships start at $5 and are open to anyone who has an interest in our library. Remember, all contributions are tax deductible and you can choose which level of financial commitment to make! See the attached file below for the printable membership form.
The Elaine David Thrift Shop's purpose is to raise money to support the Library. Funds raised from this shop help support the Library in various ways, such as museum passes, the Summer Reading Program, and materials and equipment needed by the Library but not covered by the budget. See more about our Fundraising.
Friends' business meetings are held on a quarterly basis at the Library. Business meetings are open to all members and are run by the Executive Board that consists of the following officers:
President: Nick Mancusi
Vice President: Lisa Hodge
Treasurer: Kara Buteau
Secretary: June Lahey
Liaison to the Board of Trustees: Carol Cipriano
Library Liaison: Emily Wentworth

ELAINE DAVID THRIFT SHOP
Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9AM to 1PM
You'll find something nice for everyone in the family at the Elaine David Thrift Shop. It is located in the basement of the Hampstead Public Library and is open all year. It features good quality, clean, gently used seasonal clothing for men, women and children. In addition, there is a small selection of household and seasonal items. Check out the pop-up sales and the sales at the end of every season. If you've never visited the Thrift Shop, you're in for a great surprise! Come browse the very high quality clothing at incredibly low prices.
Donations: The Thrift Shop gladly accepts in-season clothing donations. Bring your donations to the library anytime it is open. Please never leave donations outside the library. Unfortunately, the Shop cannot accept furniture. Some household items are accepted; please ask the Thrift Shop staff in advance. All donations are gratefully received.
The Thrift Shop is the primary fundraising effort of the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library. The proceeds are used to support library museum pass program, events, and to help finance library purchases that are not covered in the regular town budget.
