Black Hawk Helicopters & the NH Army National Guard

Friends of the Hampstead Library Program.

Presenter Chief Warrant Officer Five (CW5) George Munson, representing the Army Aviation Support Facility, NH Army National Guard (NHARNG), will provide a presentation on what is involved in providing NH mountain search and rescues and combat medical evacuation.  Learn how the National Guard is linked to the Governor and the President of the United States.

Learn why your NHARNG can respond to state emergencies such as COVID, mountain rescue, and natural disasters while the active-duty Army Forces do not.  You will get hands on experience with equipment such as Night Vision Goggles and crew-member survival gear, and there will be ample time to ask questions.

CW5 George Munson has spent the last 34 years in Army Aviation accumulating over 8000 flight hours.  He has been deployed on four combat tours logging over 1,500 combat flight hours and performed multiple rescue missions in the White Mountains.  He is instructor qualified in the UH-1 Iroquois, UH-60 Black Hawk, and the C-12 Huron.  He currently serves as the Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) of the NH Army National Guard.
