The library will be closed Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13 while the water tank in the basement is removed. The library historically used this water storage tank for our fire sprinkler system; however, we’ve recently connected to the HAWC water system, making the tank unnecessary. The company removing it requires five days to safely dismantle the steel tank. Once the tank is gone, the library is excited to gain a new room in the basement that can be used for storage, which will help expand our collection.
You can still return most items in the book drop box at the front of the library that week, but due dates for all items will be adjusted for this closure.
In the meantime, the librarians are working on some fun activities that can be enjoyed at home during this closure. These will include craft kits, a culinary spice kit, website challenges, and virtual storytime for kids, all of which we’ll share in the upcoming weeks.
Once this project is completed, we look forward to welcoming you back into the library on Saturday, November 14!
