Friends of the Library Get 35% of Proceeds from New Poker Room on March 1 & 2

The Friends of the Hampstead Public Library have been chosen by the new Cheers Poker Room & Casino in Salem NH to receive two days of charity benefits. Under its “Games of Chance” license with the NH Lottery, Cheers is mandated to payout 35% of their charitable gaming operation to registered New Hampshire Charities.

For the days of March 1st and 2nd, the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library will receive 35% of their proceeds.  Print this coupon for $2 off any meal at Cheers on March 1st and 2nd.  Coupons may also be found at the Friends' Thrift Shop at the library.

The Friends of the Library are one of many organizations in Salem and Hampstead (e.g. scholarship programs, school clubs, sporting organizations, etc.) to benefit from this charitable giving.
Friends' Monthly Raffles

From September until May, the Friends have a monthly raffle to raise monies.  The raffle item is always displayed at the front desk of the library with tickets available for purchase.  The average amount for each raffle is $100 but sometimes is substantially more.

Our March Raffle is the St. Patty’s Basket.  This basket contains an Irish sign, bowls and plate, placemats, oven mitts, dish cloth, pasta, a cooler on wheels, wine glasses, Irish scarf, and a $25 gift card to Prime Butcher. The basket is valued at $160, and has been generously provided by Pentucket Bank.

March 13th will be the next Friends' event with Fred Marple's "Guide to New England", a hilarious look at Yankee behaviors that tend to confuse people "from away".

The Friends are selling raffle tickets at the cost of $1 for one and $5 for six. Tickets can be purchased at the Hampstead Public Library’s front desk.  The drawing is held on the Monthly Tuesday Friends' meeting at 7 pm. You do not have to be present to win.

We have Halloween Costumes in the fall ! Come see the selection for all ages!

There is something nice to wear for everyone in the family at the Elaine David Thrift Shop. The shop is located in the basement of the Hampstead Public Library and is open all year. It features good quality, clean, gently used seasonal clothing for men, women and children. Check out the half-price sales at the end of every season.

The Thrift Shop cannot accept furniture, utensils, or books. There just isn’t space for anything except good, clean clothing for men, women and children. All such donations are
gratefully received.

You may bring your donations to the shop during its regular open hours, Tuesday
s from 9AM to 1PM. and Saturdays from 9AM to 1PM, or bring them to the front desk of the library if you can't make it when the Thrift Shop is open for business. If you've never visited
the Thrift Shop you're in for a surprise as you check out the very high quality clothing in stock at incredibly low prices.

It is the primary fund raising effort of the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library. The proceeds are used to support library programs and to help finance library purchases that are not covered in the budget.
